Therapy for Teens

Being a teenager can be challenging, with different social and academic pressures, mind and body changes, and living in a post pandemic social media filled world. COVID-19 has left many people feeling anxious in social situations, or struggling with school, as being in lockdown was a big shift from "normal" life. It is very common to still feel the lasting effects from the pandemic lockdown, and talking with a therapist can help.

Social media presents its own challenges: bullying and harassment, pressure to fit in, body image and self esteem are all amplified through social media use. Therapy can help teach tools to feel more confident navigating the online world and loosening the control it can take on our lives.

Themes that often arise with teens relate to body image, social related anxiety, grief work, gender and sexuality exploration, friend and relationship navigation, and preparation for college and career.
